When you open a bet on Investment Bets, you choose the direction — long or short — and the app fills in the price for you. It takes the current market price at that moment and saves it as your entry. When the bet closes, it takes the price again and saves that as your exit. Your result is simply the percentage change between the two.
Where the prices come from
Both prices come from live market data, fetched by the app rather than typed in by hand. That keeps everyone on the same footing: since no one sets their own prices, one person's results can be compared fairly with another's, and the leaderboard reflects real market moves.
When the exit price is taken
A bet closes in one of two ways. If you close it yourself, the exit is the current market price at that moment. If it has a target date and reaches it, it closes automatically at that day's regular-session closing price.
What this means for your bets
Because the app fills in the price, your entry or exit can land a little away from the number you saw a moment earlier if the market moved in between. For calm, widely-traded names the difference is usually tiny; for fast-moving or lightly-traded ones it can be larger.
